ABOUT

Our Vision

At the heart of the Tlou Foundation is a powerful vision, to uplift underprivileged individuals with exceptional ambition. Many young talents, despite their potential, lack the resources and opportunities to showcase their skills and shine on larger platforms. Our objective is to bridge this gap. By raising funds, we aim to provide these promising individuals with the necessary exposure and support to elevate their careers to new heights.

Our mission is to sponsor the education of 50 underprivileged children by December 18, 2027, in honor of Lucky Kgatle’s 50th birthday.

Our Patron Story

Tlou Foundation was founded by our visionary, Lucky Kgatle.
“My career journey is one of humble beginnings, embodying the phrase:
“I am because you are,” or “Umntu Ngumntu Ngabantu,” which describes
the meaning of Ubuntu. If I had not had the opportunity to experience
this African humanist philosophy being practiced, I would not have
achieved my education and landed the career of my dreams.

My dreams were realized through the efforts of those who dared to uplift others and bring the elevator down to pick up those below, elevating them to a point where they can reach for their own dreams. This African philosophy, which speaks to the fact that we are all connected and that one can only grow and progress through the growth and progression of others, has always resonated with me. It is the essence of my personal story and my belief that whenever you take the elevator up, you should send it down to pick someone else up. It is nearly impossible for anyone to attain success without support from other well-meaning individuals.

My heartfelt wish is that, through this foundation, I can help others
achieve their educational dreams. Someone once believed in me and
helped me realise my own dreams. Now, I want to pass that same support and belief on to others.
I kindly invite you to join me on this journey of supporting my vision to see all deserving South Africans’ career dreams become a reality.”
